I forget what story this illustration accompanied, but I’m 99 percent sure it was a Tribune Media Services story about not being a total jerk at your office holiday party. Advice that I, as a decorated people-watcher, do not endorse.
Anyway, I did this in two steps. First, I made a flat vector drawing in Photoshop. Then I printed that out and shaded it with color pencils, and that’s the net result. I like how it turned out, which is my only consolation for attaching my name to a graphic that seemingly attempts to discourage people from using the office lampshade as a hat. In truth, I was hoping the image would just give people the idea to do exactly as this man does and create a lamphat epidemic that, unfortunately, never happened.
